Lotus Motorcycles preparing to introduce its first superbike

The newly formed company Lotus Motorcycles, created around the famous British manufacturer of sports cars and racing Formula 1 cars, preparing to introduce its first superbike.
The new project Lotus Motorcycles was born thanks to the work of German specialists from Holzer Group and team Kodewa Racing, known for the preparation of a prototype for Lotus LMP2 race 24 Hours of Le Mans. Lotus Motorcycles has prepared two working prototype, which were tested intensively on public roads and race tracks.

For the appearance of a new motorcycle is responsible former head of design, senior designer Daniel Simon Volkswagen. It is assumed that the Lotus C-01 will be available in two versions. Charged version will be powered by a V-shaped “two” power of about 200 horsepower and put on lightweight carbon fiber cladding. Modification of the Lotus C-01 will be easier dressed in ordinary plastic fairing and receive less powerful motor.

For the first time representatives of the Lotus announced their intention to produce motorcycles in June of last year, promising that the company’s first bike will go on sale in late 2013 or early 2014.
