In Korea, on the car which was driven by Kimi Raikkonen there was installed a new exhaust system with the “Coanda effect”. In Lotus F1 they were pleased with the news, and in the Grand Prix of India, a new exhaust system will be installed on both machines so that the races would go smoothly.

Eric Boullier said that “The plan is that in India we are going to use a new exhaust system on both machines. We have seen how the teams with greater resources than we have, for several races were trying to deal with the exhaust system with the “Coanda effect”, but could not do it. So I must praise our engineers. We know that with the new product will be able to get the car more effective.”

Lotus F1 is fourth in the Constructors’ Championship, 29 points inferior to McLaren. Speaking about the chance to fight for the third place, Eric Boullier said: “I hope we can. Remember the stage in Korea – Ferrari finished ahead of us and made a lot of points. We also were able to win back some points from McLaren, which of course is good, but you have to be realistic. Summer pilots McLaren were very strong. I do not think that every weekend they will have the same problems as in Korea. Struggle is hard, but we will do everything to take the third place.”
