A Delay in Introduction of New Lotus Models

May 3, 2012 at 15:18

We apologize to our readers that right after the good news there comes an article, which has to deal with shady reality. However, this information could have been gathered before the Super Sunday for Lotus, but still, there was an announcement that new models of Lotus cars are not going to appear in the upcoming future. Nevertheless, we strongly believe, that after the great results, which were shown in Formula One, leadership of the company is going to rethink its previous decision.

The first news is that few months ago the Lotus company has signed a four year contract with their father company – Proton. This, as the CEO of Lotus said, was a great insurance for the company that their model line is going to expand and they will get back on track all new and shiny.

However, it became known, that the Malaysian government has sold a substantial amount of Proton shares (close to the 50%) to the industrial conglomerate DRB-Hicom. This actually makes the future of Lotus quite shady, because it was not very successful in generating profit. But we hope for the best after Lotus winning the podium on Super Sunday.
