Every Lotus fan waits for new competitions, where their favorite brand can conquer new tops of the charts. However, nothing is so easy, especially in the auto concern, which tries to be at the top, but still has to work through the difficulties it faces. Thus, the protracted saga for a few months with homologation of a new rally car Lotus R-GT can not even come to some logical conclusion.

The original plans of the Lotus brand were to bring the official debut of Lotus Exige R-GT by the April Rally 1000 Miglia, the Italian round of the championship of Europe. Moreover, Lotus repeatedly emphasized that Bernardo Sousa from F1 team will be driving the majority of the asphalt rounds of ERC.

All of these plans began to fall rapidly at the beginning of April this year, when it became clear that homologation of the car is postponed until the unidentified date. The date of anticipated premiere of the first ever rally car Class R-GT by Lotus has been shifted first by a month, when in mid-May Rally Croatia was taking place, which they did not want to miss. However, the first delay was not enough, thus there was another one announced – the question of homologation of Lotus R-GT is still open.
