However, this information could have been gathered before the Super Sunday for Lotus, but still, there was an announcement that new models of Lotus cars are not going to appear in the upcoming future. Without denying there were great numbers of rumors and news about what is going on among Lotus team and Proton. In fact, Proton has been a long-term partner of the company and was there in its hard times and high times. Going back a little into history, it should be mentioned, that in 1996 Proton actually made one of the biggest acquisitions and it was buying around 64 percent of the Lotus’s shares. However, later the company bought up the number of shares to 100.
