The former head of the automaker expects to launch a series of five new sports cars equipped with engines and transmissions designed by “Lotus” on their own. Official details about the new ideas of the firm yet are unknown, but according to some reports, the new owner of the Lotus – Malaysian holding company DRB-Hicom – decided not to release new models and engines. Probably from all the expected new products, only one survives – the successor coupe Esprit.

The new business plan for the company is called “more realistic” than the strategy of Bakhar described as “non-working perfect.” Signing the new business plan, the company refuses to follow previous Bakhar ideas, and in such a way a manufacturer terminated the agreement with 50 engineers working on new models and announced his retirement from racing series INDYCAR after 2012. According to Malaysian media, new ideas for the development of the company has already approved six major lenders of “Lotus”.
